Hello Fitness Friends!

The last week or so, my nutrition has been off track. Not sure if it just because summer is winding down and I’m trying to enjoy my BBQ and ice cream truck treats as much as possible or what, but I am ready to get back on track and starting feeling good again.

Who wants to join a 5 day clean eating challenge group? We can do it all through Facebook.

Each day, we will post our meals and give each other accountability. You can follow any meal program you want, the goal is to just keep it clean!

Today is day 4 of Body Beast. Here has been the schedule, so far:

Day 1: Build, Chest and Tri. Awesomeness.

Day 2: Build, legs. Dear god, my legs don’t work anymore.

Day 3: Back and Bis. Can’t move my arms anymore.

Day 4: Beast Cardio — at least it was supposed to be. I am taking today as a rest day because my body is THRASHED. Woke up this morning feeling completely zapped. So, it is time to up my calories. I think I’ve only been consuming about 1300-1400. So, now I’m bumping up to 1500-1700 and see how that goes. Everything is so sore, I can barely go down the stairs, and my arms only stretch so far ahead of me. It. is. AWESOME.

And now I have a wedding to go to today. I’ll be moving at about 5mph, but I’m looking forward to it :)

Body Beast Day 2

Today was Build: Legs. I honestly had no idea what to expect. I watched a few Youtube vids (some of my favorites are GF2 Revolution) to get an idea, but whoa. Nothing compared to actually doing it — holy CRAP.

Guys, this was INTENSE. I haven’t been so tired and shaky in a long, long, long time. I ended up doing most of the moves without any weights at all (had to check my ego at the door). It was so crazy — one move right after the other with little break time. After the first set in the giant set, my legs were a shaky mess. I was so relieved when we got to the calf moves and my upper legs could take a break.

So, if you guys have never done this one before, be prepared, and don’t go too heavy right off the bat. Trust me, this will kill ya (in a good way).

By the way — I am SO sore from yesterday. I love it. And, my upper legs are already feeling sore from this afternoon.

I am so pumped {literally} for Build Shoulders tomorrow.

BODY BEAST- Day 1 - This is NO JOKE.

Beginning Weight: 137lbs

Body Fat: 27%

Holy Hannah Montana.

Today marked day one of Body Beast. I had been doing Piyo for the past two weeks and as much as I loved it, I missed my weights like CRAZY. All I could think about was pushing weights around. So, I went with my gut, went out and bought a weight bench, and decided to just go for it.

Within the first five minutes, I have to be completely honest, I was not sure how I felt about the program. But after the first set, I was hooked. I was sweating, grunting, going heavy (at least for me), and loving every minute. I used a range of 3lbs-10lbs for most of the moves (which is actually all I have, I’m going to have to invest in some 12s!) and by the end of the workout, my chest and tris were TOAST.

Now, it is midnight, and the soreness is setting in. Tomorrow will be interesting ;)

Nutrition today was an A+. I’m tracking my calories again, and I realize that I probably haven’t been eating as much as I should have been. But today was PERFECT ( a little short, but not by much).

Overall, really excited about this program and the results I’ve seen from others. With good nutrition, this could make me a BEAST! :)

Back on that fitness GRIND.

Hey everyone —

I’ve been out of the loop for awhile. We all know how that works — you get motivated, you kick ass, then something happens and you slowly start eating crap, not working out, and just not caring anymore.

Well, that’s what happens to me at least.

So, I am back and ready to roll with a new program : PiYO, by Chalene Johnson.  You guys might have heard of this already — it’s offered as a class in gyms and has a huge following.

I have to be honest, this is typically not the type of program I would do. I have ZERO flexibility and yoga/pilates type programs are pretty tough for me. But that is exactly why I am doing it. It’s low impact, high intensity, and will help immensely with the areas I struggle in.

Freelance Graphic Design

Hey everyone —

Just wanted to put it out there that I am opening up shop for some freelance graphic design work if anyone is interested! I can create logos, brochures, posters, business cards, wedding invitations, etc. for a reasonable price. If anyone is interested, just send me a message! I’m still in school and am looking to get more experience and earn a little extra cash to pay off student loans.
